Personalized instruction and mentorship for budding anglers
Guided days are an opportunity for kids to deepen their knowledge and understanding of fishing while improving their technique. Whether it’s their first day on the water, or if they’re an experienced angler, these trips are an immersive experience that will help your child expand their proficiency in the craft, and deepen their appreciation for the world around them.
Depending on your child’s skill level and interest, these days can include:
Fly-fishing 101: casting, reading the water, understanding aquatic insect life and other forage
Light tackle lure fishing for bass, trout, and other native species
Proper handling techniques & how to give a fish a healthy release
Full service guide support: knots, flies, lures, and know-how
Gear provided (or bring your own!)
For expedition trips for cold water species like trout, you’ll need to provide your own waders (For kids who already have some basic fly-fishing experience)
Most of the year, wet wading is totally sufficient… at Assabet Anglers, we support kids getting wet and muddy!
